Job Summary/Basic Function

The Associate Director (AD) for Donor Relations is a member of the Office of Donor Relations. The AD works with the donor relations team to design, coordinate and implement the college’s donor relations and stewardship program, which includes acknowledgements, donor recognition, giving impact communications and reports, and strategic programs and events designed to retain donors and inspire continued giving at higher levels.

The position is primarily responsible for creating and managing the recognition and on-going engagement strategies for members of Dickinson’s four main donor recognition societies: The John Dickinson Society, the Mermaid Society, the Old West Society, and the Founders’ Society. The AD also oversees targeted acknowledgement and impact report strategies for annual fund, restricted and endowed gifts. This position involves regular collaboration with students, faculty and senior administration, as well as interaction with trustees, leadership donors, prospects and volunteers

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of professional working experience in fundraising, public relations, marketing or related field is required. Must have experience writing and packaging fundraising or marketing materials. Knowledge of higher education fundraising and stewardship practices is preferred.
