Job Summary/Basic Function
  • Develop and implement coaching strategies and establish expectations that facilitate the achievement of the student-athlete learning outcomes in areas such as: teamwork, time management, problem-solving, conflict resolution, leadership and personal/professional networking.
  • Ensure that all actions of coaches and student-athletes on the track and field teams are performed with the appropriate level of instruction, safety precautions and training and the physical well-being of all participants is top priority.
  • Develop and implement a successful program for student-athlete recruitment.
  • Cooperate with the Director of Sports Information and Assistant AD for Athletic Media and Administration in compiling and submitting statistics and award nominations as are required or appropriate
  • In conjunction with the Director of Athletics and the Advancement Office, foster existing and establish new relationships with alumni, friends, parents and/or the community to develop friend-raising and/or fundraising opportunities for the program and the College.
  • Plan and implement a year round training program by providing student-athletes the direction necessary to aid in their ongoing conditioning for their sport.
  • Ensure that personal conduct of the coaching staff, as well as that of student-athletes, is consistent with the policies of the NCAA and the Centennial Conference. In addition, such conduct must at all times present an appropriate image to the College, visiting teams and the community.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of related experience.

  • A valid driver’s license is required Coach must be in possession of a valid operator’s license for not less than three (3) years and the license must be in good standing without interruption during that time period.

  • This position also requires the PA Act 153 Clearances.
