Job Summary/Basic Function

The Line Server reports to the Serving Line Supervisor and is Dining Services direct link to our student customers.

  • Reviews menu and recipes before serving line opens with the line supervisor or chef on duty and follows established procedures, recipes and portions.
  • Primary responsibility is cooking items on the serving line grill and serving directly to customers.
  • Must work any of the serving line stations if assigned.
  • Maintains a sanitary serving area during meals. Follows all guidelines established by the Department in cleaning the serving area and all related areas and equipment.
  • Prepares menu boards and sets up serving equipment as needed.
  • Maintains a safe work area and adheres to all College policies regarding safe work environments.
  • Accomplishes all tasks as requested by the shift supervisor or management.
Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in an institutional food service setting is preferred. The ability to work with and interact with other employees and student customers is essential.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand and work for 7 hour periods. Must be able to lift 40 pounds on an occasional basis. Must be Serv-Safe certified or obtain certification within 1 year of hire date.

Must be High School graduate or GED required
